Looking for a good electrician, Look no further!

Everyone knows how difficult it is to find good tradesmen, but this problem can be made worse when the tradesman required is a Technical Tradesman. Typically we would depend on a recommendation from friends or colleagues. If our friends don't know someone in the trade we need, we could look at the classified ads or the Yellow Pages. This gets the job done but, What about the quality of their work?

You can only judge the quality after the work has been completed. Another point is the best tradesmen don't advertise, they don't have to! Good tradesmen get their work mostly from referrals.

Lets take a look at my trade, I am a Time served Electrician.

Did you know, an electrician is required to carry out a four year apprenticeship during this period his attitude, workmanship and aptitude for the job will be continually assessed, after completing his apprenticeship he will become a tradesman. As a Tradesman he will be qualified to one of three levels of skill and expertise, these levels are:
  • Level 1: Qualified Electrician. This is the lowest level, typically good for menial tasks, labouring to another electrician, general minor repairs and domestic work. Expect level of workmanship to be fair, though mental grasp of electrical matters may be questionable, when challenged.
  • Level 2: Approved Electrician. This is an electrician who has been trained not only to a high level in workmanship, but also well trained in electrical installations both domestic and commercial. This is the minimum level we would recommend you employ for any work you are having carried out.
  • Level 3: Craftsman Electrician. The "cremé de la cremé" of electricians. Highly trained, Highly Skilled, Quality and Pride in their work. Slightly more expensive but if you want a good job done well, you should only employ craftsmen!

I am a Craftsman Electrician, I am also a qualified Electrical Engineer, registered on the Roll of Engineers held by The Engineering Council in London. Typically the kind of work I undertake is: Small electrical contracting work, Intruder alarm installations, CCTV, Electrical Consulting Work etc. I am also available to supervise and control electrical work and associated trades on larger projects.

I also said that the best tradesman don't advertise! Thats true. Once you have built a reasonable number of clients, you don't need to additional work come's from repeat business and referral's. With the exception of my website, I do not advertise my sevices. New clients choose me!

      George Edgar,
      MIIE Elec.Eng.,Craftsman Electrician.

Here's what some of my existing customers have to say!

I would happily recommend George to anyone considering having any electrical work done. We found him to be courteous and efficient, he arrived when he said he would however due to some unforeseen problems the job took slightly longer than originally planned; Despite being able to charge more, he didn't the price stayed the same and the work was completed with the minimum of fuss.
Mr J.Gilbride, Milton, Glasgow

Fantastic! Great job well done! and even tidied up the mess afterwards. I have recommended him and would do so again.
Ms Catherine Irvine, Craigend, Glasgow

We used George's services following a recommendation from a friend, it was good advice and we would happily recommend him. We now consider him to be our family electrician.
Mr and Mrs Elliot, Garrowhill, Glasgow

We only ever use George to look after our electrical requirements. This decision was reached after wasting lots of time, money, and effort caused by not choosing him the first time. We chose another electrician before a friend told us about George. Cutting a long story short, George had to come in, re-assess our needs, rectify the faults left by the first electrician and complete the work. He did and we are delighted.
Mr and Mrs Rooney, Shettleston, Glasgow

We called George in to look at our intruder alarm installation. In a matter of minutes he had identified the problem, he also spotted a very serious weakness in our system which potentially left our home vulnerable to attack from burglars. He suggested a solution and carried out the work the same day. Absolutely delighted, We would recommend him to anyone.
